It was funny to observe the smaller children at home. My fourth daughter just loves disturbing and getting on her sisters' nerves. She would walk around in her walker trying to get her hands on any of their things. My third girl would always scream and shout at her younger sister which makes it even more exciting for her. She'd never stop trying....until....hahaha...you can guess what happens next.
It's just so enjoyable to be able to witness this while they are still small...

Debate

On the same day as the sport's day, we had to be the host for the district's first round debate. The girls went against the students from SMK Klang Utama.
The debaters however had to miss the sports as they had to prepare themselves for the debate which took place in the afternoon. As for the teachers, one had to stay with the kids and the other two had to divide time between the stadium and school.
As for the result of the debate...well, we gave in to Klang Utama people...with a fight of course.

On the 10th of February, SMKKJ had its annual sports day. It was its 12th sports day. It was held at the Sultan Suleiman's Stadium in Klang.
What a glorious day...the sun was shining brightly, the students were chirpy and excited. The teachers were all so busy organising things. As for the athletes, they were a nervous bunch...just couldn't sit still...couldn't wait for their event.
All in all, it was a day to remember...by all.

On the 29th of January, again for maybe the 12th time, SMK Kampong Jawa held its annual `sukantara'. It was a joyous and yet a tiring day for everyone. The kids were actively involved in five sports items; 100m and 200m runs, long and high jumps and also short part (if I spelt it correctly). Teachers were also very busy running around school making sure that the kids were participating and obeying the school rules and not forgetting making sure all the activities were running as planned. There were shouts of joy and victory heard not only from the students who managed to qualify and get marks for their houses but also from teachers who went all out to support their teams. There was also small arguments among teachers who were not satisfied with some of the rules but it was then forgotten and forgiven.
It was a great day though a bit tiring...a day to enjoy and forget all about school work for a while....

Monday, 18th January 2010, was the launching of 'Program 3 K' school level. The 3 K stand for kebersihan, keselamatan dan kesihatan. It was launched by the YDP of SMK Kg Jawa's PIBG at the school assembly area during school assembly.

On 16th January, SMK Kg Jawa held its annual Larian Ria. All students were supposed to participate in this activity but sadly enough only 1200 out of 2000 students were present on that day...and my blue house which is also known as Ledang, only managed to come in third. Well, we have to make do with that position for the time being.
By the way, on that day, I was on duty as one of the 'hakim check point'. I was stationed at the last check point for boys. It was quite tiring to be standing at the station for more than 2 hours but somehow it was also interesting...to be watching the boys especially the form ones running and participating actively in the run.....

This is quite a backdated entry on my second child's first day at primary school.
Well, she looked happy to be in school...to be wearing the white and dark blue school uniform just like her elder sister's. However, after 2 weeks of schooling, she started making a small problem...crying when I tried to leave after sending her to school. She had refused to get into her line at the assembly area...which of course made me furious. Then, I found out that she had refused school because on that fateful day, her elder sister was having toothache and was absent from school. Therefore, this 1st grade school girl also wanted to be excused from school so that she could stay home and play.......hmmmh...kids.
Now, it's her third week going to be fourth...she's doing okay...no more tears.....hopefully she'll be happy with school and won't create any problems in the future...Amin.....

During the Hari Raya Haji which fell on the 27th of December, we went back to Kedah with my sister's family and of vourse with mama and abah too. The trip back to Kedah was ok but the trip coming back to Klang was a long one. We travelled 12 hours on the road because of the heavy traffic all the from Alor Setar to Tanjung Malim....aduh...duh...duh
Back in Kedah, we stayed at the Hotel Seri Malaysia. We didn't go back to my Tok's place because it was already full with my uncle's family. Anyway, since Tok is no longer around...we seldom go back to her house...sedih jugak bila tengok rumah tu...all the happy memories there actually made me sad as Tok is not around. When we went there during our 3 day visit, I was very melancholic...I could still see Tok sitting at the dining table...walking along the corridor...hmmm...it's quite nostalgic...the memories.
We also went to Padang Besar, Perlis...which couldn't be helped....balik Kedah mesti pergi Padang Besaq....besala....What else...I got myself a new handbag, t-shirts for the children and also a few pairs of pajamas for them. As for the 'abah', he couldn't leave the place without buying himself a MU jersey and a shirt...'koporat' shirt.
However so, the main reason for going back to Kedah was we went to Hj. Salleh's family gathering....my late grandfather from my mother's side of the family. It was glorious...I got to know many of my relatives whom I'd never known before.
All in all, I could say that the trip back to Kedah was 'BEST'!!!!!!!!

Rendezvous

On the second day of raya, my mom decided to cook 'laksa kedah'. So, being the only child at home, mom asked me to go out and buy the ingredients. Loyally, hubby drove me to the shops.

Well since it was still hari raya, most shops were closed. We had to go to several shops to buy the needed ingredients We managed to get all except the 'daun kesom' and the 'mee laksa'. We went to almost every opened shop. To no avail there were no 'mee laksa' and 'daun kesom. Finally, abah suggested a supermarket in Bukit Indah. With almost no hope at all, we drove to the supermarket. And...yippee!!!!! the things searched for, were there and I took them quickly and paid for them before thy're taken.

Curry Puffs

Here are the pictorial steps in making curry puff aka karipap.

First, prepare the dough of flour, margarine, water and a pinch of salt.

Next, roll the dough and cut into small pieces

Then, flatten the small pieces of the cut dough by rolling them
using a roller or a steel flask...: P

This is how it looks like

Next, prepare, the filling; minced chicken with potato cooked in curry powder

After that, fill the centre part of the flattened dough with the curry filling

Close the dough by folding the sides.

These are the end product before the next important step.

Last night or should I say yesterday evening, we had iftar at the school. Those invited were the forms five and three students together with their parents. But then, the attendance was an upsetting one. Not many turned up. Still, the function went on smoothly.
For the break fasting, we were served with ayam beriani, nasik minyak hujan panas, acar buah, dalca and various types of 'kuih'. They were all cooked by a group of teachers and staffs heade by the principal herself. (pictures of the food weren't captured due to my stomach was already screaming for food at the time of iftar)
After iftar, we performed prayers at the school hall. We were also given 'tazkirah' by our own PK HEM who led the prayers for the night.

Raya Shopping

During the 3-day holiday recently, we brought the kids (minus the baby, of course!) shopping for their 'baju raya'. They were very excited even though they had to wear masks. Dilligently, they got up early, bathed and dressed. The two younger ones were ordered to take their late 'sahur'. Excitedly they did as they're told without hesitation.
Well, on the first day, we only managed to buy clothes for the younger ones and shoes for everyone. On the second day, after hours of walking around Plaza Alam Sentral, finally we managed to get 2 pairs of baju kurung for Alya and a pair of gown each for Aina and Auni. Then, we headed home. It was terribly exhausting...and yet satisfying.

'Bunga Api'

Two nights ago, I brought back a box of 'bunga api'. At seeing the box of sparklers, my two younger daughters squealed with joy. The youngest of the two, kept the sparklers with her all evening. She also kept asking me to let her play with them very soon. But mama made all kinds of excuses but finally gave in. So, on the balcony, mama entertained her daughters...playing with the box of sparklers.

Today, my maid decided to do some thorough cleaning of the kitchen's inner cabinets. So, you can imagine what was in store for all of us...COCKROACHES!!! They came in all sizes....whew...gross..
My two little girls quickly jumped onto the sofa and they stayed there unmoved. As for my baby, it was sleeping soundlessly but she awoke with a start at the screams of my 3 year old who could never become friends with the black crawly creatures....well who does. This reminds me of Joe's Apartment. In the movie, Joe became friends with millions of cockroaches....they even helped him to clean up his place. That'll never happen in real life...
Now, all the roaches are dead and gone...and my children are already on the ground...continuing with their everyday routine...doll playinglah...apa lagi....

What I heard today...

Well, today...early this morning, when I was watching MHI (Malaysia Hari Ini), one of the presenter said that 'why don't teachers show affection towards their students by saying nice things to them and also by patting them often'. Words or phrases that teachers can utter are 'jalan baik-baik', 'jaga diri', 'semoga esok kita jumpa lagi' and many others.

Well...I agree with him. But sometimes, we tend to get all rile up especiallly with the kids who always get on our nerves...those who refuse to show us respect...those who like to test on our temper...those...it goes on and on. I do wish my students well...I do pray for their safety...I do pray for their success. But I wonder if the students pray for me or their teachers.

There are many things that can make us teachers happy. One of them is when students respect us as teachers, adults and maybe friends. Another thing is when the students get good results and become successful. Furthermore, teachers are happy and overjoyed when students think of them and thank them when they succeed in studies and also life.

As for me, I still remember my teachers who are always very dear to me. One of the teachers whom I remember most id Miss Subramaniam (my chemistry teacher), Cik Azizah and Pn. Kamaliah (my B.M tachers) Pn Kannabhiran and Cik Hannah (both were my English teachers) and not forgetting my Add Maths teacher, Pn. Leong whom we also used to nickname her Mrs. Michael Jackson...she wore a glove on her right hand every time she wrote on the blackboard...: D.

Well, I'm glad that now i'm a teacher and I hope that I have touched many of my students' hearts and will always be remembered....not as a bad teacher, of course!!!

A Rainy Day

Yesterday, it rained almost the whole day. Actually it rained half of the day. It was raining cats and dogs. It cleared all the smoke and dust.
As a very responsible mother (perasanlah pulak) and a mother on leave, I decided to fetch my eldest daughter from school. So, with my Avon umbrella, I fought the heavy downpour and dashed off to my daughter's school. While waiting I witnessed all kinds of activities happening at the school. Therefore, with my handphone, I managed to capture a few.

Arif n Cassandra's Wedding (but no pictures of the 'pengantin' though)

Last Saturday, I went to my cousin's, Arif, wedding reception. Actually, he wed on 23rd March this year. The reception was however held later due to the unavailability of the place; Dewan Perdana, Felda Merak Kayangan.
It was a lovely reception. The hall was beautifully decorated. There was also a band playing 'Melayu Asli' songs. It was good. The food was not bad...there was chicken curry (I think), 'dalca', 'sambal udang' (huge prawns), 'acar buah' and also beef rendang. Not forgetting the dessert which was 'tapai ice cream'. Yummy, but sadly though, I still wasn't allowed to eat it eventhough I have finished 'berpantang'.
My kids were having a nice time. I also met my relatives whom many I had not seen nor met for many years. There were aldo relatives whom I had never met...most of them were from my mother's side.
Anyway, I enjoyed myself...forgetting that I have baby at home...only for awhile...: )

Grrr....(part 2)

Grrr... well this is the 2nd part.
Yesterday, I got another message from the 'dungu' bank asking me to pay yet another payment. This time the charge had increased by rm30. How dare them!!!! So, without delaying, I searched for the bank's customer service number and called them. First call...I was put on wait. Then, they asked me to leave my number so that they could call me back. I did just that.
10 minutes...20 minutes...finally at the thirtieth minute the phone rang...it was from the bank.
Controlling my anger and irritation, I talked to the man calmly....telling him the whole problem from A to Z. The officer was a gentleman. He explained and agreed to my request. So, in less than 15 minutes my problem was solved...I had managed to terminate my card and I was also exempted from paying anything. Alhamdulillah.
Next time, I'll try not to get into anymore troubles...especially when it comes to credit cards...
By the way, I want to thank a friend for giving me a very good advice on the matter. If the bank had refused me, I would have done as he suggested...Thanks again.

Earlier this morning, I heard on tv on how we should be proud and uphold our mother language. As for Malaysians, our 'bahasa rasmi' is Bahasa Melayu. therefore, we should always be proud to use all the time.

The man on tv...he was from DBP (Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka), said that, if our 'bahasa rasmi' is Bahasa Melayu, then we should be able to use it in schools, for formal functions and also for communication. Unlike, Singaporeans, they claim that their official language is Bahasa Melayu but they are not upholding it by using it in schools or in official businesses.

By using B.M in schools we are showing that we are proud of our language. We want others also to know and perhaps use our language. If we are not proud of our own language and do respect it, then how can others respect it. Bahasa Melayu is now the 5th mostly known language in the world. So, we should be proud to use it.

When we're using English as our medium, in a way we are slowly burying and discarding our mother language. By using B.M in the learning and teaching of subjects in schools, we are helping the language to bloom and stay in people's hearts and mind. It's good to be fluent in English but it's also good not to forget our heritage. If foreigners are willing and interested in learning it, why shouldn't we.

Bahasa itu adalah jiwa bangsa. Saya sentiasa berbangga menggunakan Bahasa Melayu. Saya juga tidak malu dikenali sebagai anak Melayu. Walaupun, saya mengambil jurusan Bahasa Inggeris tetapi itu tidak bermakna saya melupakan asal usul saya. Jikalau orang di Eropah, Jepun, Korea dll berbangga dengan bahasa mereka dan boleh berjaya, mengapa tidak kita.
Oleh itu berbanggalah dan pelajarilah bahasa sendiri sebelum kita mempelajari bahasa dan budaya asing.

Long lost friend?

I've been wanting to get in touch with one of my closest friends from school. But, I just don't know how. She's a known person know. She's involved in politics...a head of the puteri UMNO. She's appeared on tv and also in newspapers as well as magazines.
Once, during the old school days, we were close. we used to share almost everything together. Then, after SPM, we went to separate universities but we still kept in touch. I used to visit her at UIA when I was studying in PPP/ITM, Shah Alam. But after we graduated, we no longer keep in touch. I tried to get her phone number or address but it was to no avail. The only thing that I know is that she's now an important person in politics...

No School....yippee....

Well, the title does not represent me who is still on leave but it represents my second daughter.

Early this morning, she woke up smiling. She bathed, dressed and asked me to prepare her drink for her. Then, it's time for her to go down and wait for her transport. But...after a few minutes, she was back in the house..."nak kencing"...not only that she was also crying complaining that her right leg was painful. Frustrated and angered...I refused to talk to her and told my maid that she was permitted not to go to school.
She looked forlorn and big eyed...staring at me...
BUT....a few minutes later...she was happily playing with her three year old sister....no more pain in the leg!!!
(children would go all out with all kinds of excuses just to get whatever they want...hmmh...)

Actually she wanted to ride her scooter but she didn't dare as mommy was very angry...

Well I'm glaD that finally the decision has been made. I'm glad that teachers are no longer burdened with this. I think the ppsmi teachers are rejoicing. In my opinion, English Language can be taught and learnt through many ways. Teaching maths and science in English is not the best solution to enhance students' knowledge and ability to speak and write in English. Students need to learn on their own. Children nowadays just refuse to speak in English or use in English Language. They either don't like the language, don't know the language and couldn't be bothered to learn and improve themselves.
my students, eventhough they're learning maths and science in English, they still refuse to use the language. They still don't know many simple English words. When they listen to songs...English songs, they just listen to the melody not to the words. When they answer questions for maths and science, most of them will fall back to B.M. So, learning really has to come within oneself.
The other day, I was quite angry with a comment saying that Malaysians especially Malays, are too closed minded. The person said that we Malaysians are refusing to move forward and become like those people in Singapore, Thailand, etc... She also said that we (Malaysians) are too stubborn and 'stupid'. Well, if you see, Japanese are doing very well eventhough they are not learning Maths and Science in English. The Germans, French and many other countries are also doing well eventhough they are not using English. We should be proud of our language...Bahasa Melayu. As Malaysians...to prove that we are ONE Malaysia, we should be proud not only with our culture, customs and heritage but also OUR LANGUAGE...

I'm really pissed off today. The thing that pissed me off is Ambank.
My ambank credit card was stolen 2 years ago. I'd reported it and told them that i wanted to terminate my account and that they didn't have to send me any more cards. Well, I thought that I had made myself clear. But, somehow or rather, they are 'dungus'.
Earlier today, I got an sms from the 'dungu' bank telling me that i have to pay the annual fee of rm50. well, angry as can be, i called the card collection center and inquired about the payment. Well, i was told that a payment of rm50 had been credited into my account. When I told them about the card being stolen and i had reported it, the reply was "puan boleh telefon ke customer service". I had done that two years ago and also last year but no action was taken.
These banks, when they want money from us...they'll surely act 'dungu'

This is the girl who is also a bullied victim at her kindie.

Today, very early in the morning, my second girl was crying...refusing to go to school. She was making excuses like having tummy ache, wind and etc.... As a mother (a very typical one), I forced her to take her bath and get her to dress for school. Sobbing away, Aina, dilligently obeyed the 'lioness' mother.
anyway, I knew deep down in my heart that there must be something wrong somewhere because she was really dreading to go to school. But I tried putting the feeling away.
At 11.45 a.m, she returned...although she was smiling and looking happy, there was something not right. So, I asked whether there was anything good or bad had happened in school today...and...to my horror, she showed me the two finger nails print on her arm. Immediately, I knew that she was pinched again by her friend...this was not the first time.
I wonder...what is happening to the kids nowadays. I didn't have this kind of problem when I was in kindergarten. Don't parents teach their children how to behave? Well, I hope none of my children behave in that manner...I''ll TRY MY VERY BEST TO NURTURE AND TRAIN THEM IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. INSYALLAH.

How time passes by very quickly. Now, it's more than two weeks after I gave birth to Aisyah , my fourth girl. She has grown heavier and perhaps longer than when she was born. Now, she opens her eyes more often and less crying. However, when she does cry, she'll cry very loudly until she loses her voice...at times, she would cry soundlessly. Her sisters adore her and would come running when they know that she's awake. Her third sis loves to kiss her and will try to wake her up...if others are not looking!!!!

The agony, worries and curiosity have finally come to an end.
On the 5th of June 2009, at 5.44 a.m, I had safely delivered my fourth child and baby girl at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang.
The pain started at around 3 a.m. But I wasn't sure whether it was a contraction or only wind. I made countless trips to the toilet but still I didn't suspect that it was a sign of labour.(after giving birth to 3 kids,,,still I couldn't guess or detect that it was contraction...I was going to give birth!!!). Then, when my water broke at exactly 4.45 a.m, I realised that I was going to have my baby out very soon!!!
Quickly, I woke hubby up and we rushed to the hospital. After 'checking in'...registrationlah...I was checked by a sleepy doctor...who couldn't even open his eyes at 5.20 in the morning. But as I complained about needing to push at any moment, he ...the male doctor managed to open his eyes slightly teeny bit bigger and checked on me which he realized that I had opened up to 9 cm already. So, quickly he ordered the nurses to push me to the labour room. In the panic moment, while being pushed I managed to sneak a quick peek at dearest hubby who was looking very worried. (hopefully it was genuine)
As I entered the labour room, (to cut the story short), I safely and successfully delivered a healthy baby girl of 3.6 kg. Yahoo!!! Yippee!!! The agony ended...the pain ended and the curiosity...a girl? a boy? also ended.
I thank Allah s.w.t for giving me four beautiful girls and a loving husband. I also thank Allah s.w.t for giving me loving and supportive parents and also wonderful sisters. Without all of them I could have never gone through moments like this...good and bad.

My Ala Raccoon Daughter

Daughters and sons…children as a whole, are gifts from God. So are mine. I have three wonderful daughters. They differ from each other in looks, age (of course) and also behavior.
In this entry, I would like to tell a bit on my third which is the youngest of the three angels. She is cute (mestilah…anak sendiri…takkan tak cute kot) and very mischievous. When I was pregnant with her, I went to watch the movie “Over the Edge” and liked it very much. Among all the animals in the story, I liked the raccoon the most. And, unfortunately enough, my third angel, somehow or rather turned out to behave more or less like the raccoon.
Like the raccoon which likes to collect things, my daughter also likes to do the same. She is never satisfied with only the things she owns. She would try to take her sisters’ things too and claims them as hers. For instance, today, I came home and bought for each of my daughters two toys from McDonalds. At first she was happy with her two toys…but a few hours later, she found out that having two toys wasn’t enough. So, she decided to take her sister’s. When my helper tried to stop her by saying, “Auni kan udah ada dua. Yang ini kak Aina punya.” Her reply was, “Tak cukup. Auni nak tiga”. That was the first incident….then, a few minutes later, she saw her eldest sister’s toys lying on the floor….Well, without further ado…she quickly grabbed the toys and ran to hide them in her ‘secret place’. Running and screaming after her, my eldest quickly spotted the ‘secret hiding place’ and took the toys back. Well, the ‘raccoon’ didn’t do any protesting but just smiled away mischievously. Only God knows what she has stored in mind…perhaps…well no one knows except for the little mischievous so called raccoon.
Life is never dull with children around especially those of our very own.

My 12th Anniversary

Well, it's kind of a belated wedding anniversary...but it was celebrated on the 25th itself. Eventhough it wasn't a grand celebration but it was a memorable one for me. We..hubby and I went marketing together. Then, we sort of celebrated it with an early dinner at our favourite mamak restaurant. It's not fancy but the feeling of bondness and togetherness that keep us together is worthless...

In my heart...I pray that we'll always be together...no matter what.

May Allah bless us always....

Roti canai with soy sauce?!!!!

Believe it or not....my youngest daughter eats roti canai with 'kicap'!!! She is kicap die hard fan. She eats almost everything with kicap including roti canai. Today, I cooked 'lempeng' and that too was eaten with kicap. Well, different people has different taste in food. But...are you willing to eat roti canai with kicap? Tepuk dada, tanya selera....: D

Mother's day this year fell on 10th May 2009. But, My siblings and I decided to celebrate a day earlier. Therefore, we sort of made plans....actually we were invited by my youngest sis... to celebrate it at my youngest sis' home in Bangi.
It was a joyous and glorious celebration. It was also double celebration...mama's day and abah's birthday. We had very delicious lunch....food cooked by my sister and her maid. Then, we had a very very yummy big chocolate strawberry cake which my elder sis bought from Secret Recipe.
I, who do not like to eat my own cooking and also at home, treasure and savour the moment at my sis' house very much. I just couldn't stop myself from having more than enough food until I felt that my tummy would burst. (which is already big and bursting)
As for the kids...my kids, my nephews and niece, they too enjoyed the day very much eventhough it was extremely hot!!!!!

Last Saturday, I was called to invigilate a very important exam. Guess what?!!!! The chief invigilator was my very own life partner!
As I reached the exam center, I was recognised by his school colleagues...but not other invigilators. Well, without introducing who I was, ...except for my name and which school I was from, I did my duty. But.....I kept getting curious glances from the others who did not know my relationship to the chief.... I also found out that they were wondering why dear chief did not put me in other rooms. All the time, I was invigilating in the same room as he was. We also had curious glares and unvoiced curiosity from the other center's chief....he caught us in a very intimate moment of trying to paste a sticker onto an already tied parcel...Guess what!!!???? quickly, he jumped in as if to try and break us (the couple...) apart by offering his help instead and pushing me aside,,,away from my dearie...(very funny at the thought of it) However so...being the hubby who seldom realises things...he didn't even noticed all the glances and glares that we received that day until i told him about it.
I guess...the other teachers might have spoken about this at their schools the following Monday...maybe they would say that the chief was actually having an affair with a fat and pregnant plus non-attractive lady teacher...ha..ha..ha... It's kind of funny when you think about it.
Well, maybe....if we have to work together again next time....I should wear a badge saying that "I'm His WIFE!!!'

Drama oh Drama

It's the time of the year where all schools in the district are asked to send in participation for the district drama competition. in the beginning, I wasn't thrilled about sending my school's team for the competition. But as the teachers cum trainers and the students were already prepared and excited, so, what the heck....here we come.
The story was interesting...underwater sea. So, you can expect to see underwater sea creatures as the props. Well done to the team! They had really done it well. The students' voice projection and articulation were amazing. They were clear and I as their teacher really didn't expect them to do that well. They really did surprise me!
However so, they did not get to go to the finals. But it was a good show and spirit displayed by the students. And I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the teachers whom had given more than 100% commitment to make sure the drama went very well.
(Better luck next year though)

Last Holiday at Pantai Remis

During the last mid school semester break, we went to Pantai Remis in Jeram. At first, we only planned to have a short visit because hubby had work to do there. But then, plans changed. We decided to spend the night there. The kids were thrilled because they'd have longer hours to spend on the beach. So, we walked along the beach and then the kids played kites and bubbles too. It was a relief to get away from Kampung Jawa once in a while.
However, there's one set back to the place....there was no wind in the morning and night. There was mostly low tide rather than high tide. High tide was only for a short period; from 1 in the afternoon to 6 in the evening only. Most people went there to look for prawns and crabs. There also you could see lots and lots of shells (sea shells). The kids had a gall time collecting shells of all sizes. Sadly though, as they reached home, the shells were also gone...missing in action?!!!!!
There's one memorable thing though that i really liked about Pantai Remis. The SEAFOOD or shall I say the IKAN BAKAR. It was wonderfully yummy. The price was also affordable. If anyone wants to have a treat of ikan bakar, Jeram is the place to go to. So, I might persuade dear hubby to take us again to Jeram...but not for the 'pantai'....IKAN BAKAR!!!!!

A boring week!

Well, this is the third week of the year end holiday. Sadly, we haven't gone anywhere or done anything interesting so far. In addition to that, this is a sick week for almost everyone at home...except for my eldest girl and the maid. They are still standing strong. As for me, I have been sick twice since the beginning of the holidays. I was first down with a very bad flu and recently I had diaorrhoea. My hubby had caught the flu form me...who else. Furthermore, my two younger girls vomitted and came down with fever. So, no going out for everybody.:(

Anyway, the kids and their daddy had finally manage to find something interesting to do (other than watching tv or vcds). Hubby, before getting sick, had managed to buy himself PS2. (in replacement of the one robbed from him last year) So, they've been in front of the tv most of the time leaving mama to do her own things...what a relief...no one to disturb.

However so, the youngest, who doesn't find playing games appealing, minds her own business...playing on her own...again without disturbing mama...: D

It was hilarious!!!

The holidays are here again!!!!! Yaayyy!!! Not only the kids are rejoicing the holidays but also the teachers. I am so relieved to be able to get away from the school kids for awhile.....a month +++ exactly. My eldest and her sister were looking forward to the holidays as 'abah' had promised to take them 'cinema hopping'. Like last week, dear 'abah' had brought them to watch 'Madagascar 2'. As for today, the film 'Bolt' is screening at the TGV cinemas....but 'abah' still hasn't said anything yet. Well, if dear 'abah' says 'jom pi tengok Bolt', I guess the kids would be jumping off their socks with cries of joy : ). As for 'mama', she will only reply with a smile...very weak smile...because tak larat!!!!
Anyway let's just enjoy the holidays. Again...'HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!'

Pn. Noorhayati Ismail In Memory.

Today, our GKMP Bahasa, Pn. Noorhayati bt Ismail has returned to rahmatullah at the age of 41. She died due to high blood pressure. It was a shocking and sad news for all of us at SMKKJ.
As I remember her, she was a good boss and friend. I could always go to her whenever I had things to ask especially regarding KP's work. She was always there and willing to help and give her opinion. Sometimes, I would run to her when I had problems with my KP work.
I can still see her face and hear her calming voice. Her demise is a great loss to us and to the school.
As long as I had known her, she seldom complained about anything. She was also the type of person who'd never try to ditch jobs. She was always responsible in her duties.
Now, that she's no longer around, I feel a great big loss. There's no one for me to turn to to ask for advice and help if I have problems with all my panitia work. I also feel a bit 'terkilan' as I could not help her with the 'perumahan' thing. A few days ago, I mentioned to her about the buyers of Desa Kerayong Indah are now able to cancel our purchase of the houses . At hearing this, she was happy and asked me include her when my hubby wanted to cancel. I had agreed and promised her. Now, my promise can no longer be fulfilled...she has gone forever leaving a husband and an eight year old son (who of course feel her loss even more...)
Anyway, her memory will live on. 'Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan dikalangan orang yang beriman. Al Fatihah.'

Raya this year was mostly felt by the children. They couldn't wait to put on their raya clothes and shoes. I'd bought for them necklaces and bracelets each. Even their maktok gave them costume jewelleries ; necklace and bracelet for Alya, bangles for Aina and Auni....they were overjoyed at getting them :). I also bought 'tudung' for the three of them. They looked so cute wearing them.

Besides new clothes for the children, what I like about raya is the food cooked by 'mak bonda'. For this yar's raya, mak bonda of course cooked her famous 'ketupat palas and rendang' (yummy). She also cooked 'soto' which was really delicious....but it was not actually cooked by her...my sister's maid did the cooking. Anyway, it was delicious.

Then, duit raya...the kids got quite a lot. Their tokabah gave them quite a huge sum. As for me, I was the one who gave duit raya to ayahanda and bonda....not forgetting my nephews, niece and daughters! Anyway, it's good to 'sedekah' some to our loved ones :).
Not only did we celebrate raya going to and fro ampang and klang...but we also went for a two day holiday to De Palma. The kids were excited. However, they didn't get the chance to try the swimming pool because it was raining for the two whole days we were there. Yet, it was still a memorable raya for all of us.

Aidilfitri is just a few days away....
All muslims all over the world are starting to feel the joys of it...
I can't wait to go back to my hometown....which is not that far...
yet, the excitement is largely felt not only by me but also hubby and dear children.
They just can't wait to put on their 'raya' clothes and of course eat all the raya goodies especially "maktok's" ketupat palas, rendang and laksa kedah (if she decides to cook some).
Well, the children are looking forward to raya...not to say that I'm not ... I do too... but I'm also sad that 'ramadhan' has come to an end and it's leaving us...we don't know whether we'll be able to meet it again next year.............only Allah knows.
Anyway, "Eid Mubarak" everyone!
Don't forget to enjoy ourselves and not forgetting stuffed ourselves too :)

The other day, my two younger children amused me with their behaviour. What I mean is if the older of the two said something, the younger one would also claim that she said the same thing. But what tickled me the other day was their action. My five year old is currently attending kindergarten but my two year old is still home bound. So, when her sister was busy completing her homework, she (two-year old Auni) came rushing with her 'homework' too. She would do exactly as her sister. If her sister asked me about her work, she would also ask me the same thing. Sometimes, her action draw her sister mad. She really reminds me when I was little. I also liked to immitate my elder sister. Well, 'manakan tumpah kuah kalau tidak ke nasi'.....kan...?......

Last week, we went back to my parents' home in Ampang. I couldn't wait to eat my mom's wonderful cooking. What I had in mind was her famous 'kerabus'. And... to my surprise, mom did make one of her most loved kerabus; kerabu taugeh with paru2. Sedapnya. We were also served with her sambal tumis ikan bilis, daging bakar with air asam and her sago pa. It was really yummy and tummy tickling....

Ramadhan Al Mubarak

Here we are again...Ramadhan is back. Eventhough all the Muslims have to fast (menahan diri dari lapar dan dahaga), I still love the month. It is a time for us to cleanse ourselves, add our 'ibadah' and try alot of delicacies which is difficult to come across on normal days or months.
The other day, hubby and I went to the Bazaar Ramadhan near our place to buy some 'kuih' for berbuka puasa. We bought a few types of 'kuihs' and ofcourse'murtabak'. Then, suddenly dear hubby noticed a guy standing near one of the shop pillars..."ah...the mak cik's son is here. Surely the mak cik will be here soon!" The 'mak cik' hubby was referring to is the lady who sells 'popiah basah'. Her 'popiah' is THE BEST IN TOWN. I'm not kidding. It's true.
So, we waited from 4.35 p.m to almost 5, when suddenly the makcik's red Honda came into view. Dear hubby who was already over anxious, jumped up from the place he was standing and said to me, "Awak pegi tunggu dekat kereta. Jap lagi lepas beli saya pegi ke kereta terus." So, without wasting anymore time, he rushed forward to where everyone else ('popiah' cravers) was standing and waiting. He pushed and jostled to the front of the lot. Anyway, hubby was happy and contented after breaking fast. He said that it was worth the wait. Well, the moral is...when we really want something, we have to work hard for it because the fruit that we get is the juiciest of them all. (can't stop smiling when the memory of dear hubby who had to push himself in between the many people in order to get the 'popiah and also the joy in his eyes at the sight of the red Honda)

It has been a long time since I update my blog. Just couldn't find the time and also couldn't find a computer.... I need to buy me a computer very soon.

Well, nothing much has happened in the last two months. Just the usual things.

Last week, I brought my children to watch 'The Kungfu Panda'. It was also the first time I brought my youngest (2 years old now) to watch the film. I thought because it was a cartoon and it has a panda acting in it, then, my little kiddie would sit and watch the film without MOVING! But to my great astonishment, she just wouldn't sit still. She was walking side to side within the seating area and she was just being curious. She wanted to explore the area in the darkness. She wasn't afraid of the dark that was engulfing her. Hmm...well, it was a lesson to her mother too (me..lah tu). Never judge a book by its cover or never judge a kid by his or her cuteness. Maybe, when she's older, I might take her to watch another movie. When my friends heard that I was brave enough to take my youngie to the movies, they said "Are you out of your mind?!!!"

Well, I guess I am. Sometimes though....

Mak Bonda's Birthday Celebration.

At 8.15 p.m Saturday night, we took off from mak bonda's house (my motherla...who else) to Bora Ombak for her advanced birthday celebration. My sisters and I decided to have an early celebration as 2nd of June falls on Monday, and they'd both be working. Unlike me, I'm already on leave (school holidaylah...apalagi). So, we had a big feast there and at the end of it, the singer of the house band came over to our tables and sang a heartiest birthday song for mama. The song, was then given a very dramatic ending with my father's booming but melodious voice.

Tax

Here comes the tax paying day all over again! I got my BE form 2 months ago. But being the lazy me, I kept putting it off with sooo many lame excuses. One of my excuse was... I still hadn't gotten my EA form. Hmmm... then, when I was given the EA, I had other excuses...alah...lambat lagilah. There's still plenty of time. Then, suddenly the end of April appears.!!! Cold sweat started coming down my face. Ayo..yo... borang BE tak isi lagilah!!! Again, I gave other excuses for not filling up the form. "Tak pela. Boleh isi pakai e-filing". But my 'takpela' became 'alamak!' when my friends told me that they couldn't send their tax through e-filing. 'it's jammed'...no one could get into the LHDN website. Flustered and flabbergasted... I decided to go home and filled in my form, then sent it by post. However, saved by the day or should I say, saved by beloved hubby, he came home and announced, "don't worry we can send our tax form through e-filing because we have MAXIS Broadband. True...now i can heaved a big sigh of relief because I finally managed to send my tax form....e-filingla, apalagi....: ) Thank u MAXIS. You have really saved my day!!!

Food

I just love food especially the ones called dessert. The desserts that I like are doughnuts, cakes (but not the ones that use butter cream for icing), and ofcourse ice-cream. Who doesn't right?!!! The other day, I read my sister's blog. She has a friend who bakes cucakes and makes a bussiness out of them. Her friend even bakes quiche, cakes and other mouth watering desserts. Wow! How I wish I could have a taste at them! Then, after dreaming about all the lovely goodies, my lucky star strikes. I got a very delicious tiramisu cake from my friend. May Allah bless her and her family. She gave one whole cake for free. She bakes very delicious cakes using whipping cream for icing!!! Anyway, I do have a dream. One day I want to learn how to bake cakes and make pastries. Then, after I've retired, I want to open a bussiness baking and selling cakes.

Harry Potter Marathons

'Harry Potter' as everyone knows is the young wizard created by J.K Rowlings. He has managed to capture almost everyone's attention and heart world wide. Well, that doesn't leave my daughter and I out. We too have developed a very high liking to J.K Rowling's boxoffice novels cum movies. My family had never missed watching her every single 'Harry Potter' films. I also have all her 7 novels which now my 9-year old daughter is slowly reading.

Today, she had just watched Harry Potter- The Chamber of Secrets for the countless times. (more than five times...she herself has lost count) As for my hubby, without fail, he would try to get his hands on all the films. (he bought all the original dvds) My hubby is dvd crazed.

There was once, during the long school holidays, my daughter and I sat in front of the tv and watched the Harry Potter movies from one to another without stop. However, when dear hubby started to complaint, with heavy hearts, we had to switch off the dvd player and sobbed in silent. Eventhough dear daddy (who is also dear hubby) bought all the dvds, they weren't meant to be watched in a day, straight from morning to evening. I think he actually felt bored and left out. He's more to music-video watching and Harrison Ford movies lover.

Anyway, we just can't wait to watch 'Half Blood Prince' and 'The Deathly Hallows' on screen.

Selamat Menyambut Maulidur Rasul

Happy holidays to all and happy Maulidur Rasul to all Muslims around the world! Today is Prophet Muhammad's Birthday. Malaysia is having its public holiday today. That includes me too.
Last night my elder sis sent me a message asking me to go to Teluk Intan with her family today. She wanted to vist our younger sis there. However, shocked, I told her that wan (our youngest sister) had returned to Ampang yesterday evening, right after work. So, there goes my big sis holiday plan.
As for me, I planned to take my children to JJ Bukit Tinggi. But, it couldn't be done as I had to accompany my hubby to the workshop. His 'kancil' had a leak. (pulak!) It's never ending; car repairing ...
Anyway, I have friends who are going back to their hometowns today as they are blessed (???) with another day off tomorrow. (Good Friday). How I envy them!!!! To them, have a safe journey and enjoy the days off!!! As for me, I would enjoy the holiday at the 'bengkel' (sob...sob...sob..)

When I was younger, right after reaching the age of 21, I just couldn't wait to vote! Then, when the time came, I got all excited and voted. At that time, I voted because I knew that I was given the chance to choose the leaders whom I thought fit to rule the country. But now, as I grew older and mature (hmmm...), I don't really look forward to voting. Anyway, as a good Malaysian, I did my duty on the 8th of March; I कास्ट my vote. This time, I was not excited at all. I didn't know who to vote for. People tried to influence me into voting for those who they preferred. But, being stubborn, as I am, I voted for......undi adalah rahsialah. Anyway, this year's election was not as 'meriah' as before. There were not many posters, banners and flags around the country. Maybe it's due to .....i don't want to saylah.

Aina's Birthday

Aina's birthday falls on 13th February every year. So, this year for her 5th birthday, we decided to celebrate it together with her cousin, Amaaney who would turn 2 on the 11th February. Therefore, my sister (amaaney's mom) and I decided to share the birthday cake which was a yummy, 1/2 kg, marble cheese cake. It's really tummy tickling.

We placed seven candles on it and sang a heartiest and joyful birthday song for the two little angels. When it's time for candle blowing,however, the eldest of the two, huff and puff and blew the candles down, leaving the two year old to only stare down at the cake wondering where all the fire had gone to (poor little thing). Maybe, next year, if we decide to have a combined celebration again, we might just have to get two cakes instead.

Alya's Birthday

My eldest daughter, Alya, had celebrated her 9th birthday on 14th January 2008. We deciced to celebrate her birthday earlier, on a Sunday as her birthday fell on a school day. So, we brought the whole family to Jaya Jusco. We had the birthday lunch at Deli Rich Cafe there. We certainly had loads of fun. Everyone had a BIG lunch that filled up the tummies for the whole day (but in the video that is attached, the focus however was not the birthday girl...it was on the birthday girl's little sister though....hmmmm....that's dear abah's doing).

My family trip to Putrajaya. The kids were exposed to the modern structured buildings there. However though, only my eldest understood.

MISA (Malaysian International Space Adventure)- WOW!

It was held in Putrajaya. We were mesmerized by the space exhibition. The knowledge gained was priceless. We really had FUN in the 4D theatre. Even my 5 year old had some fun there eventhough she still couldn't understand what space is.

Blue sky, a beach without water, very strong wind...oh well that is Morib.

The kids were rather disappointed because they couldn't build sand castles nor take a awim in the sea. However, they still had a gall time fighting to move against the wind and chasing bubbles. (there was a family who blew bubbles and my kids chased after them)

A trip to 'disneyland' in jaya jusco. The kids really felt like they were in Disneyland. We enjoyed looking at all the disney princesses' statues.

Maids...headaches

In our modern world nowadays, we do need maids, helpers and of course babysitters for our children. Having maids do lessen our burden BUT they too add up to our headaches.
In my case, my maid or if I put it in a nicer way, helper, do lessen alot of my burden; clean the house, cook, attend to the children especially my two younger kids who can really get on my nerves at times. But at other times, she does give me HEADACHES.. For example, the other day, we had our Chinese Year holidays for four days. I didn't have any idea that she wanted to go on leave. So, as a boss, I just couldn't be bothered to offer her one. However so, I noticed that for two consecutive days, she had been putting on a long and sour face every time she saw me. At seeing that, I got very irritsted. Whenever I called her, she refused to answer me. This went on for two days until on my eldest told me that actually 'bibik' wanted to go on leave bt mama didn't allow her. With all the irritation and anger building up inside me, I called her to come and see me in private. (we were at my mom's place.anyway, i didn't want to make a scene in front of everybody else.)
My confrontation began. She expected me to be able to read her thoughts and knew what she wanted. Wow! In that case, I really have to be one of the heroes in the series Heroes at the Starworld Channel to be able to read people's thoughts. Or I should just be like Sylar....hmmmmmm. To make the atory short, as a good boss (not to say i am), I finally agreed to allow her to go on a seven-hour leave on the third day of the Chinese New Year holiday. I made her promise to go and return at the time we had agreed on. Maybe you can say that we had a 'spit an'd shake' agreement.(i'm not sure about the term. but it's an agreement where both of you spit and shake hands over it).
Well, eventhough we had finally reached an understanding (???) over a small matter but still having to deal with maids is sooo troublesome. Sometimes, I do wish that I do not need a helper. But yet, in reality, I do. Therefore, I need to have more patience and tolerance too.

HOME

Home...i've been without a 'steady' home for quite some time these past few months. All these were due to the four foul bad robbbers who broke into my home at the beginning of the fasting month. I really hope those robbers would rot in hell!!! But now i am much happier and safer. I am now a happy human being who feels alot safer. There are people staying above, under, next and opposite my house now. I don't have to worry very much about my family's safety anymore. As for my wonderful new house which was broken into and damaged (a little), i still go and check on it from to time. I have to because it's costing me almost half of my monthly salary!!!
Anyway, wherever we are, as long as we are together with our loved ones, the place can be called HOME.

Oh! My Big Feet!

I have a special fondness for shoes. I love shoes but my big feet restrain me from buying shoes of my liking.
When I was small, my father would choose and buy me my shoes.He would choose shoes that had girlish looks. Then, when I grew older and bigger, my father did not only choose and buy my shoes, but he would even try on the shoes for me! We wore the same size. (even now! we still wear the same shoe size except that he wears men shoes and I, the women's, of course!)

The other day, I went shoe shopping. There are sales every where now. Since I am now wearing larger sizes shoes, I thought I'd try my luck shopping for branded shoes at lower prices.(my feet only accept branded and classy footwear...hmmmmm...'kaki orang kayala...) So, I started my shoe rendezvous. I went to JJ first, since it is the nearest shopping 'heaven' to my house. I went to several shoe outlets. Finally, my eyes were set on a pair of Crocodile sandals. I asked for my number 9 size and tried them on. Oh gosh! They were too high for me. I wobbled when I walked and I felt like I was a giant on high heels! Sadly I returned the pair of sandals to the sales boy who was trying to refrain his laughter.

I continued my search for my 'Cinderella' shoes. I went around and again my eyes caught sight of a pair of Sembonia shoes. Wow! It struck me that I would definitely look 'gorgeous' wearing them. Without thinking twice, I picked them up and saw that they were my size 40. Quickly I tried them on and they fit me beautifully. I was admiring them on my feet when suddenly dear hubby came into view. "Putihla. Tak cantik." (They're white. They are not pretty at all) My heart felt 2 kilos heavy. Reluctantly I put my beautiful shoes back on the shoe rack and walked away. Well, I guess I'm the type of person who listen to others' opinion and accept them!

Finally, with almost fading hopes, I spotted another pair of shoes which were not as grand as the other two previous ones. Quickly, without hubby bothering, I asked for my size, tried them on and paid for them. I finally bought a pair of shoes which I like and I feel satisfied with. They fit snugly on my two big feet.

That ends my shoe rendezvous for this year. I hope. Maybe if there's another big sale before the year ends, I might scout around for another pair of shoes; an Alain Delon or a Bonia this time. Only time will tell. Who knows...

My New Home

'Home sweet home'.
Everyone in this whole wide world wouldwant to own a home. Some want to own a bangalow. Some want to own a semi-d, a terrace house and some are satisfied by just staying in a small flat...as long as they have a roof over their heads and also a place called HOME.

My hubby and I have just bought a house here in Klang. It is very nearby our work places, our daughter's school, TESCO, GIANT, and Jaya Jusco. (shoppers' heaven). It's not big but we really love it. My children love the new house too. Because...the children's playground is just backdoor.(a few steps from the house...) They open the kitchen's door and there it is. Beckoning them to come out and play.

The house is ready. We've gotten the keys and we've started installing all the electrical stuffs and building the kitchen cabinets. However, we still cannot move in as planned (during the August school holidays) because none of our neighbours are going to move in until after hari raya. Nevertheless, everyday we would go to the house just to look at it, walk inside it and just 'drool' over it.(if only you could see our saliva drooling out of our mouths).

My children would always pester my husband and I to take them to the playground where they will play for one hour or until they feel tired. Sometimes my neighbours to be would join us too.

How I wish that I am already staying in my new house so that I am saved from having to pay for two houses; the house I am renting now and the one I have already bought. Just imagine all the bills I have to pay. But, due to safety, I have to be patient...and wait a little longer...(sigh)

Am I Happy?

I am a simple person who wants only the simplest things in life. At the moment I am happy with my life; i have a wonderful and caring husband, three cute and most wonderful children, my loving parents (who still nag me about my appearance from time to time) and not to forget my beloved sisters. I also have a job that i like very much. But, at present, i don't really enjoy working. Hmmm...i wonder why?...

I am working in the education field which was once an occupation whereby many people wanted to be apart of. It seems that being an educator nowadays is more challenging than 50 years ago. Ahhh...that reminds me...we are celebrating our 50th year of independence this year. MERDEKA!!!(7X). In the modern era, teachers are no longer respected. Teachers can no longer discipline kids without being complained or even sued by parents (ofcourse) Not only that, if teachers tried to educate the students, and the students don't like it... teachers will get threats...nanti cikgu, you jaga haaa...

Back in my father's days (the 1950s and 60s), teachers were 'worshipped'. Parents gave 'green lights' to the teachers to do anything to their children as long as they would turn out to be 'orang'. My father used to tell me that whenever he played truant in school, he would be caned and punished. However bad the punishments were, he never dared to tell my grandmother. Why? It's because he knew that my grandmother would never take his side. Instead, he would be given more punishment.

Nowadays, we don't get that kind of 'respect' from both students and parents. Teachers are reminded not to do anything not even the mildest punishments to the pupils. Teachers can only sit and watch the students fall into the deepest pits and dig their own graves. It is so sad but yet true. If students do not want to listen or learn in class, just let them be. If students sleep in class, let them be. If students speak using vulgar words, let them be. If students, play truant (skip classes or even school), just let them be.

How i wish that things were different...like when i first stepped foot into the education line...i was respected and appreciated by my students... i used to get 'rambutans' during the fruits season...i used to get 'thank yous' for the tiniest deeds that i performed... i used to get gifts (from cloth right down to a toothbrush) for teachers' day. If only i could go back to those days, i would...

Am i happy? Yes, for certain things in life but not in others...being a teacher who is no longer appreciated...

My little darlings

MY DARLINGS

When we use the word darlings, it can always mean anything, ranging from things to animals and also people. But I am only going to refer to my three little darlings who are my children.

When I was young...let's say a bachelor, i can never imagine myself getting married and having children. I had always imagined myself staying single until i'm really old...or maybe until i die...

Then, fate had struck me by bringing me my prince charming. We met, fell in love and got married...and blah...blah...blah...After ten happy years, we have been blessed with three wonderful angels. Hah...angels when they don't drive you crazy. But i guess all children are like that...including mine.

My eldest now is eight years old. Very tall and big for her age. People always say that she looks like a thirteen year old. My second is 4 now. It seems to be taking her a looooong time to grow. She is still very much like a one year old (...she still cries at night and wears diapers to sleep). Finally, my youngest??!!! (i hope so...) She is only one year old. But she acts older than her 4-year old sister.

All my three darlings love food. Just like me. They love ice cream, cheese, pizza, spaghetti and ofcourse CHOCOLATE. Don't all children... The love to play with each other. They love to fight with each other. At times, they can play very peacefully with each other but sometimes they tend to 'bite' at each other...even my youngest.

Anyway, i love them very much and will never trade them with anything else in the world.
